This series comprises audit reports for the Baltimore Lutheran Deaconess House and School, Inc., a corporation created in 1962 to manage property and other assets originally held by the Deaconess Community of the Lutheran Church in America (LCA) predecessor, the United Lutheran Church in America's Lutheran Deaconess Motherhouse and Training School, Baltimore, Maryland. These reports date from 1963-1979. Audit reports that date from 1963-1969 by and large include the accountant's certificate; exhibits for the balance sheet and its supporting schedule; current funds, receipts and expenditures and their supporting schedules, endowment and other funds, and the plant fund. Beginning with the audit for 1970, reports include an accountant's report and exhibits for a statement of assets, liabilities, and fund balances; a statement of changes in general operating fund; a statement of changes in endowment funds; a statement of changes in plant fund and reserve for improvement and relocation; and notes to financial statements and supporting schedules. Tait, Weller & Baker, Certified Public Accountants, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, conducted the audits. Even though some of these reports predate the existence of the Deaconess Community of the LCA, they were placed as a series in this subgroup for continuity purposes. The financial report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1979 is not audited.
